Abington Journal

AGR_Will_AJ

I sat down with Elizabeth Baumeister from The Abington Journal to enjoy a cup of coffee, discuss my experience with iPhone photography, and share some of my favorite apps. Elizabeth posed some great questions, and I can't imagine how she even began to whittle it down into an article, but she did and I couldn't be happier with the article. The article can be read here. (The Abington Journal) I will post some additional questions with my answers in future posts.

lisa b. Fall 2012

AGR_LB_Fall_2012

The Fall 2012 lisa b. catalog is printed. A huge thanks goes out to the Scranton Cultural Center for a fantastic tour and graciously allowing the lisa b. team the opportunity to photograph in such an amazing Scranton landmark. I would be remiss if I did not bring attention to the fantastic styling and makeup talents of Stacy Giovannucci. She worked magic by creating so many looks for our already stunning model, Christine Brown. Christine's side lace boots and her hand knit sweater are the latest in lisa b. line. You can download the entire catalog as a PDF here.

Everhart Museum May 2012

Everhart_Bee

After close to six years, I resurrected my darkroom to be a part of an exhibit at The Everhart Museum. Yep, I mixed chemicals, dusted off negatives and bathed silver prints in selenium.

On May 4th, 2012 opens
Directing Sunbeams, Beekeeping in Northeast Pennsylvania. The exhibit is of local interest to accompany the larger exhibit BEEyond, by Rose-Lynn Fisher. Rose-Lynn is the author of the book Bee, which placed third in the International Photography Awards.

Directing Sunbeams, Beekeeping in Northeast Pennsylvania illustrates the trials, tribulations and treasures of beekeeping in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Local beekeepers Renee Czubowicz, Jim Davis, and Ellen McGlynn share images from their experiences. I am not a beekepper, I just thought it would be a good time to tag along with a beekeeper as he extracted a 25 year old bee hive from the side of a church in Equinox, PA.

Mobile Photography Awards Shortlisted

AGR_MobilePhotoAwards_03

I submitted some photos to the Mobile Photography Awards and am happy to have been shortlisted. The image below of a severed bird wing is a contender, but there is some stiff competition. As a finalist I am flattered to be in the company of two iPhone photography artists whose style I recognized immediately and respect immensely, Benamon Tame and Tuneart. (I suggest you search both names on Instagram and follow them.) The Judge of the category I am considered for is Nettie Edwards. You can learn a bit about her here, or fancy her twitters and tweets here.

iMAGES: an iphone photography exhibit

AGR_iMAGES

Thanks to everyone who came out to October's First Friday event in Scranton. I was excited to show work at The Grove Media. October marked the one year anniversary for The Grove Media, Scranton's only Apple certified specialist, so it seemed only appropriate to create an exhibit of photographs captured with an iPhone and then processed with various and often multiple apps on the phone or an iPad.

Unfortunately the exhibit was only up for one evening, but I created a page on my website of the show. You can click the image above to access it or click
iMAGES.

Join me on the 7th at The Grove Media for an exhibit of my photographs. The show is one night only, the First Friday of October, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The images have all been captured with an iPhone and processed with various apps on an iPad or an iPhone. This show will also celebrate the one year anniversary of The Grove Media, which is the only Apple specialist in Scranton. Come support local.
